  1. What is Friends & Family?

    With Friends & Family call any number, any network, any time – and never use your plan minutes!

    Customers on qualifying plans can choose up to 5 or 10 Friends & Family numbers – add your friends on other networks, add your office number or home number – and receive unlimited calling with them - anywhere within the Nationwide Coverage Area.  Plus, share your Friends & Family numbers with everyone on qualifying plans on your account.

  2. What plans are eligible for Friends & Family?

    Friends & Family is available on Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more, as well as Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more.

    Nationwide plans offer:

    • Unlimited Mobile to Mobile to over 80 Million Verizon Wireless subscribers
    • Unlimited Nights and Weekends
    • Access to Mobile Web

  3. Do I need to change my plan to get Friends & Family?

    Friends & Family is available on Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more, as well as Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more. 

    Sign in to My Verizon to check if you’re on a qualifying plan.

  4. I am on a qualifying Nationwide Plan with Friends & Family, how can I add numbers to my Friends & Family list?

    Visit My Verizon to set up your Friends & Family numbers today, and change them online whenever you want.

    If you are not already registered you will need your cell phone number, your cell phone and your billing system password, if you have one.

    On the My Services Tab in My Verizon, Account Owners can activate the Friends & Family service, and add and remove numbers from the Friends & Family list.  Account Members may view the list, but not but may not edit the list.

  5. How many numbers can I add to my Friends & Family list?
    Customers on Nationwide plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more can choose up to 5 Friends & Family numbers.  Customers on Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more can choose up to 10 Friends & Family numbers for the entire account.

  6. Can I add numbers from other wireless providers?
    Yes, with Friends & Family you can choose anyone, on any network in the U.S., to call without ever using your plan minutes. And you can change who is on your Friends & Family list at anytime by signing in to My Verizon.

  7. When do changes to Friends & Family become effective?
    Changes to your Friends & Family numbers become effective the following day.  Calls to and from the numbers you remove will continue to be unlimited during the day the change was made.  Calls to and from the numbers you add will not be unlimited until the following day.

  8. Will I be notified when there are changes to Friends & Family?
    Yes, the Account Owner will receive a text message when a change that affects your Friends & Family eligibility is made.

  9. What type of numbers can I add to Friends & Family?
    Your Friends & Family list can contain any valid U.S. number as well as any 800-type number, including 888, 866 and 877 (excluding 800-555-1212).  Your Friends & Family list can not include directory assistance, 900-type numbers, your own wireless number or voice mail access number, or numbers from Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands.

    Friends & Family is available on Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more, or Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more.  Our newest plans offer great value.

    Friends & Family is available on Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more, or Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more.  Should you require more Anytime Minutes, sign in to My Verizon to change to a qualifying plan.

  13. How many Friends & Family numbers are available to my account?
    Customers on accounts with multiple lines on qualifying plans will share either 5 or 10 Friends & Family numbers, depending on the plan type. For example, an account with a both a qualifying Nationwide Family SharePlan and a qualifying Nationwide Single line plan will share 10 Friends & Family numbers.  Each line does not get its own separate list of Friends & Family numbers.

    No, the account shares the total number of Friends & Family numbers for which the account is eligible. Each phone does not get its own separate list of Friends & Family numbers.

  15. I am a business customer; will I be able to subscribe to Friends & Family?

    Yes, business customers currently subscribed to qualifying Nationwide Single Line and Family SharePlans are eligible for Friends & Family.  Visit My Business to manage your Friends & Family list anytime.  In the very near future, Verizon Wireless will enable Friends & Family for Business customers on the remaining plans. 

    Visit My Business periodically for updates.

  18. Is Alltel’s My Circle feature available now to Verizon Wireless customers?
    My Circle will continue to be available to Alltel customers while they are on an Alltel price plan. Beginning February 15, 2009, Verizon Wireless will offer Friends & Family, a similar feature, which lets a Verizon Wireless customer enjoy unlimited calling to either 5 or 10 customer-defined numbers, depending on the Verizon Wireless calling plan the customer has chosen.
